George R.R. Martin May Want a Game of Thrones Movie


Addressing growing concerns amongst the rabid GoT fanbase about what exactly is going to happen when the HBO smash hit show rapidly approaches the point in the narrative that the books is at, series creator George R.R. Martin had this to say:

“Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger [in scope]. It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know.”

Ignoring the fact that it’s going to be extremely tough to get seven let alone TEN seasons out of (SPOILER I GUESS) two pretty mediocre books and two unpublished manuscripts, many of the actors and actresses are quickly outgrowing their roles, most notably Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran) and Sophie Turner (Sansa):


At the snail’s pace that George R.R. Martin publishes his books, Rickon Stark will likely be shaving by the time that (SPOILER) Dany’s dragons actually cross the narrow sea. All of this points to his suggestion of a big budget movie a potentially attractive alternative. Hopefully it all works out, but for now it’s just a situation to monitor.
