Vince Staples – Limos feat Teyana Taylor
From the fantastic Hell Can Wait EP. Vince has steadily been getting better with every release and with legendary producer No I.D. (and the potential Nas, Common, James Fauntleroy, Jhene Aiko, etc features that come with that) as well as young stars like Mac Miller and Earl Sweatshirt firmly in his corner I cannot wait for his full length Def Jam debut next year. But until then, Hell Can Wait and songs like “Limos” will definitely stay in constant rotation.
The lineup for the upcoming Pitchfork Music Festival which will be held July 18-20 in Chicago was released today and it’s pretty impressive. It’s pretty stacked with hip-hop/DJ fan favorites such as Kendrick Lamar, Death Grips, Danny Brown, Pusha T, Earl Sweatshirt, Hudson Mohawke, Grimes and Isaiah Rashad. Also, maybe the appearance from Giorgio Moroder means that Daft Punk will make a rare United States appearance (note: it does not)! At a pretty reasonably priced (for a festival) $130 this is a pretty good bang for your buck.
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib – Robes (feat Domo Genesis & Earl Sweatshirt)
Pinata is out and it actually meets the hype. Make sure to buy it on the 18th.
Earl Sweatshirt & Tyler, the Creator – Orange Juice
With all this talk of Red Carpets, I felt it was only necessary to include an unforgettable moment from last year’s Grammy’s involving Frank Ocean and his hoodlum friends. Every Red Carpet should include OFWGKTA. We can send Jasper to the ACE Awards!
